Positive Impact

Positive Impact is a not for profit education project set up to answer the demand for education on sustainability within the hospitality industry. Positive Impact aims to demonstrate an example of sustainable events in action and provide education for a destination, with the result that they are able to provide clients with a sustainable event offer.
Launched in Manchester UK November 2005, Positive Impact is coordinated by a volunteer board which includes planners, venues and environmental consultants who are leaders in setting an example in sustainable events. Delegates pay a fee to attend each educational session, a portion of which is spent on a local community involvement and offsetting project.
Positive Impact brings together global industry leaders to present a tailored educational programme, which explains trends, accreditation, support and tools available for planners and venues. Topics include: waste, energy, transport, food, procurement, community involvement and industry accreditation. Recent speakers include MPI, IMEX, BSI, Green Tourism Business Scheme, Hospitable Climates and Envirowise.
Positive Impact education series are attended by venue facility managers, venue managers, corporate, independent and association planners.
